  About the TV Show

David Lynch

"Very absurd and really stupid. I love that combo, but apparently nobody else does."

"Absurdity is what I like most in life, and there's humor in struggling in ignorance. If you saw a man repeatedly running into a wall until he was a bloody pulp, after a while it would make you laugh because it becomes absurd. But I don't just find humor in unhappiness - I find it extremely heroic the way people forge on despite the despair they often feel. "

"Anything different on television is a potential success or just the opposite - a catastrophe. And for the most part it's a catastrophe."
(answered Lynch being asked about the success of Twin Peaks.

On The Air is Lynch's second TV series. ABC canceled it after 3 of 7 episodes. Lynch directed and wrote with Mark Frost the pilot episode. He wrote the last Episode with Robert Engels but did not direct it.
This halfhour situation comedy series is set in the year 1957. The Zoblotnick Broadcasting Company (ZBC) launches the new "Lester Guy Show". A bunch of lovely "morons and halfwits, dolts, dunces, dullards and dumbbells" makes sure that everything runs smoothly.
